We at CII have always played a key role of facilitating the interaction between the industry and academia and work towards delivering skilled employable workforce to the industry.

This tie-up aims to deepen the industry-academia relationship, and create a strong foundation for sustaining the Publishing BPO Services Industry in India. The curriculum that we have developed focuses on aligning the needs of universities, colleges, the faculty and students with the needs of the industry, thus preparing “industry-ready” publishing BPO professionals.

My heartfelt thanks to the Periyar Maniammai University for accepting our proposal to introduce this course in the university. I would like to appreciate and thank them for being industry friendly and proactive to the industry's needs.

I am very proud to say that such a course in Digital Publishing is being introduced as a main stream course for the FIRST time in India. In addition to this degree program, short-term diploma and certificate courses in Digital Publishing will also be offered by PMU. This will greatly benefit the working professionals and students of other disciplines.

This is an initiative that will be highly beneficial to the faculty, students as well as the industry. We are extremely confident that with assistance from CII and its publishing BPO core committee members, this initiative will raise the bar of digital publishing education in the country.

This tie-up is hence a WIN-WIN for companies, universities, students and customers, as the industry is facing an acute shortage of trained manpower in this area.
